FERAL SISTERS
Paintings, photographs, and poems by Topanga canyon-born and raised sisters
Feral Sisters is a multi-medium gallery show exploring sisterhood, creativity, and striving for a life lived wildly. Raised in the canyon and shaped by art, nature, and feral curiosity, the sisters present an intimate collection of paintings, photographs, and poems rooted in rebellion, instinct, and wildness.
The Pieces
Oil Paint on Raw Canvas. Painted in Topanga 2025
Framed Double Sided Clear Plexi Mount with Black Matte Frame
Poem on the back -
Inspired by my own boy
My horse
My cowboy
My rough rider
We’ve ridden many miles together
Carved many canyons
If you were to dissect me
And cut me to the quick
You’d find his name carved on my heart.

Poem on the back -
Listen to them hiss and kiss
Dance to fork tongued lullabies
Scarred hearts cares tough souls
Dressed in flowers and flies
Sun bathe, let the earth learn your name
Shed old skin, that keeps you small
Sharpen your teeth on silk and pain
Uncoil and rise from it all

Poem on the back -
A horse can feel your heart beat 10 feet away
The dance of a fly landing on their tail
Your nervous system has already spoken
Alarming before you even flinch
A power a privilege a poem between creatures
Hearts syncing
Breath blending
Souls dancing

This painting is inspired by the rattlesnake I caught as a kid
I can still remember the sound of her coiling and striking
Fierce and beautiful
Her name was Apple
I think about her often
And I wonder if she ever thinks about me
And I hope she is still feral and free somewhere in the red rocks

Poem on the back -
Moon feral he didn’t listen
Didn’t follow the herd or bow to submission
Bolted from constraints
Bucked against breaking
Rearing and running
Destiny’s made for taking.
